Institute of Science Hosts Orienatation Program for BSc First-Year Students
Varanasi: The Institute of Science organized a comprehensive orientation program for BSc first-year students at Swatantrata Bhawan. The event, held in homage to Mahamana, featured various activities and informative sessions.
The program commenced with a Floral Tribute to Mahamana, followed by the recitation of Kulgeet. Dr. Amiya Kumar Samal, Student Advisor of the Institute of Science, BHU, delivered the Welcome Address. Prof. Anupam Kumar Nema, Dean of Students Welfare, BHU, and Chief Guest, addressed the gathering, emphasizing different student activities and student amenities of BHU.
Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director of the Institute of Science, BHU informed the new students about BHU and its glorious history. During this occasion, the Namaste BHU App was officially released during the ceremony. Prof. Sukh Mahendra Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Science, BHU, delivered an address highlighting the amenities and facilities available at BHU for students
The program included informative sessions by distinguished speakers covering various themes related to student life and amenities at BHU. Notable sessions included Prof. KK Singh’s general address on student amenities, Prof. RN. Kharwar’s insights on BSc Admission-2023, and Prof. HP Sharma’s comprehensive session on attendance, examination, timetable, and class-related matters.
Other sessions covered hostel life, disciplinary committee guidelines, Central Library resources by Dr. Dewendra Kumar Singh, women’s grievance addressed by Prof. Nandita Ghoshal, and measures against ragging presented by Prof. RP Sinha. Professors and experts also discussed sports activities, training, placement initiatives, leadership, skill development, student well-being, cultural activities, and amenities.
The program concluded with a Q&A session, providing an opportunity for students to interact with the speakers.
