VARANASI AIRPORT MURAL PAINTING ENTERED IN “EURASIA WORLD RECORDS”

On the occasion of India’s Amrit Mahotsav and G20, a long mural painting measuring 55.74 square meters i.e. 600 square feet, done by Banaras Hindu University Professor Mr. Suresh K. Nair and his eleven students in collaboration with Airport Director Mrs. Aryama Sanyal at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi is entered in “Eurasia World Records”.

On behalf of Eurasia World Record Madam Sadia Hannan from US has awarded the Eurasia World Record certificate to Mr. Suresh K. Nair and Airport Director Ms. Aryama Sanyal at the airport today. On this occasion, four times Guinness World Records holder Dr. Jagadeesh Pillai was also present.

The 6.096 meter long and 9.144 wide (20×30 feet) mural painting has become the centre of attraction for every passenger coming from the airport. This painting has 300 lotus flower designs and in the centre there is a Shiva Linga made of mirror in which the beholder can see himself teaching us one of the mahavakyas of Veda i.e. “Tat Tvam Asi” means “That is You”.

This mural painting was inaugurated a few weeks ago by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Jain.of Banaras Hindu University,

Eurasia World Records will award participation certificates to all students of Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University who have helped to complete the mural painting like Saurabh Srivastava, Pulak K. Sarkar, Arunima Mondal, Kajal Verma, Manasi Shah, Aastha Tiwari, Tenzin Yonten, Norbu Tashi, Tenzin Newdon, Shruti Gupta and Priya Gupta.

This mural painting has become a major attraction for people coming to and from the airport in Varanasi and is a matter of great pride for Kashi.

Prof. Nair said that work will soon be started on making such a mural painting in Banaras Hindu University as suggested by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain.
