Two BHU Faculty Members Receive INSA Teachers Award-2022

 

Varanasi. Prof. R. N. Kharwar, Department of Botany, Institute of Science and Prof. Satyen Saha, Dept. of Chemistry, Institute of Science, have received the INSA Teachers Award-2022 for their remarkable contribution in the field of teaching. The award was presented to Prof. Kharwar and Prof. Saha recently at the annual general body meeting of The Indian National Science Academy, by the INSA President Prof. Ashutosh Sharma and INSA Vice President Dr. Madhu Dixit.

Prof. Kharwar has been involved in teaching and research for more than 27 years, and has to his credit more than 130 research articles, published in national and international journals, over 20 book chapters and 4 books. He has produced 18 Ph. D. students serving different academic and research institutions across the country and world. Currently he is guiding 07 research scholars. Previously, he has been honoured with Prof. PC Jain, Dr. SK Shome, Dr. AK Sarbhoy, Dr. V. Agnihothrudu and Dr. EJ Butler memorial awards. Prof. Kharwar is also the Coordinator of Industrial Microbiology and Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence, BHU.

Prof. Saha has over two decades of teaching and research experience. He has also been felicitated by many prestigious awards including DST-INSA-DAAD (Germany) Award, Best Teacher Award by Chemical Research Society of India, among others. He has published a number of research papers in reputed National and International journals.
