National Mid Term CME (ISPR-Indian Society of Paediatric Radiology) Held at Banaras Hindu University

 

Varanasi. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) hosted the National Mid Term CME (ISPR-Indian Society of Paediatric Radiology), bringing together leading experts in the field of pediatric radiology from across India. The ISPR is a professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in pediatric radiology services in India. Founded in 2003, the society aims to improve the standard of care for children by fostering collaboration, research, and education in the field of pediatric radiology.

Organized by the Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging at the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, the CME was held in Dr. K N Udupa Auditorium, provided a platform for researchers, clinicians, and radiologists to share their latest findings on Pediatric Oncology Imaging and insights into the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using advanced imaging techniques. The department has been at the forefront of pediatric radiology research and training in India, and the conference is a testament to its commitment to advancing the field.

Nearly 200 participants attended the CME, that included radiologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals. The event featured a range of keynote lectures, panel discussions, and interactive workshops covering topics such as pediatric musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology, and interventional radiology. The topics discussed during the CME were from Neuro-oncology, Thorax and Musculoskeletal oncology, and Abdominal oncology.

The conference was also an opportunity for participants to share their research and experiences with one another, with several sessions dedicated to abstract (paper and poster) presentations and panel discussions. In addition, various hands-on training sessions like film reading sessions were organized for the participants. The best presentations were recognized with awards, encouraging young researchers to continue their important work in the field of pediatric radiology.

“We are thrilled to have hosted this conference at Banaras Hindu University and provided a platform for pediatric radiologists to come together and discuss the latest developments in our field of pediatric Oncology,” said Professor Ashish Verma, Head of the Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, IMS BHU and the organizing Chairman of the CME. Dr. Ishan Kumar, the organizing secretary mentioned, “we hope that the knowledge shared, insights gained, and connections made during this event will help us better diagnose and treat pediatric diseases in the future.”

Dr. P.K Singh, the treasurer of this event emphasized that inspite of limited resources available to us, overall, the National Mid Term CME (ISPR) was a great success, providing a valuable forum for discussion and learning in the field of pediatric onco-radiology. The organizers and participants expressed their gratitude to BHU for hosting the event and providing a stimulating and supportive environment for the conference.
