International Narcotic Drug cartel busted,  Three active members of cartel arrested from Delhi/NCR

• Arrested three drug suppliers are of African origin i.e. two from Nigeria and one from Cote-d- Ivoire.
• 14.5 kg Methaqualone and one car used in transporting drugs recovered from Delhi and Noida.
• Members of cartel used to store drugs at a house in a posh colony of Greater Noida.
• Value of recovered Methaqualone is more than Rs. 60 crores in international market.
Team of Special Cell/SR led by ACP Sh. Attar Singh, Inspr. Ranjeet Singh, Inspr. Sanjeev Kumar and Inspr. Satvinder Singh under the close supervision of Sh. Alok Kumar, DCP/SR has busted an international narcotic drug cartel by arresting three key members of cartel. Arrested drug suppliers are:-
1. Nnamani Ahukajude (age 44 yrs) r/o Nilothi Extn. Chander Vihar, New Delhi (a Nigerian national).
2. Franck Oumarlbrahim (age 40 yrs) r/o Greater Noida, UP (a Cote d Ivoire national).
3. Chinezie (34 yrs) r/o Greater Noida, UP.( a Nigerian national)
From the arrest of above three members of drug cartel, 14.5 kg Methaqualone have been recovered from Delhi and Greater Noida, UP. International value of recovered contraband is more than Rs. 60 crores.

INFORMATION AND OPERATION

There was information with Special Cell/SR about indulgence of many Delhi based persons of African origin in drug trafficking in parts of country from Delhi/NCR. This information was developed and members of this drug cartel in Delhi/NCR were identified. A specific information was received in Special Cell on 04.03.2023 about arriving of a Nigerian national with a consignment of Methaqualone near petrol pump at Dhaula Kuan-Gurugram Expressway between 11.15 pm to 12.15 am in the intervening night of 04 & 05/03-2023 to deliver the consignment to his contact. Accordingly, a raiding party led by Inspr. Ranjeet Singh consisting of SI Balraj, HC Devender, HC Amit, HC Naveen, HC Anil, HC Harvinder etc. was constituted and a trap was laid near above petrol pump.

At about 11.40 pm, Nnamani Ahukajude with a trolley bag appeared coming on foot from Dhaula Kuan side and he stopped near metro pillar 99 at Delhi-Gurugram expressway. After waiting for 05 minutes, he started moving and was surrounded and apprehended by the members of the team. Search of his trolley bag was conducted and 4.680 kg Methaqualone was found concealed in cardboard boxes further wrapped by cloths kept in bag, which was seized. A criminal case under provisions of NDPS Act was registered at PS Special Cell in this regard and investigation was taken up.

Arrested accused Nnamani Ahukajude disclosed that that he was a member of the drug cartel being run by persons of African origin in Delhi/NCR. He also disclosed that he had procured the recovered drugs from one Frank Oumarlbrahim of Cote-d-Ivoire residing in Greater Noida. Franck, driving a Corola Altis car was nabbed on 05/03/2023 near Mata Channan Devi Hospital, Janakpuri at the instance of Nnamani Ahukajude. On search, 8 kg Methaqualone was recovered from the dickey of his car. Franck disclosed that he had received the consignments of drug from another Greater Noida-based drug supplier namely Chinezie, a Nigerian national.

During further investigation of case, Chinezie was arrested on 06/03/2023 from outside ONGC Building, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. 1.250 kg Methaqualone was recovered from the bag he was carrying. Search of his rented house ,Greater Noida, UP was conducted and 570 gram Methaqualone was recovered from there. Total recovery of Methaqualone from arrested three drug suppliers is now 14.5 kg.

BACKGROUND & CRIMINAL HISTORY

Arrested three drug suppliers were thoroughly interrogated. They disclosed that they would receive the consignments of Methaqualone from a person of African origin in Greater Noida. They used to exchange drugs mostly in the area of INA Market, Vasant Kunj Mall, C-1 Janak Puri and Vikaspuri in Delhi. Arrested three have also disclosed to send drugs to Bangalore and Mumbai from Delhi/NCR through their carriers. Their modus operandi is that they send their carriers to Bangalore via Ahmadabad only by long route buses which they board at Dhaula Kuan, Delhi. Carriers carry drugs in secret cavities of their bags. They never travel through train or plane while in possession of drugs. After delivering the consignments, carriers return to Delhi by air. They have disclosed to have been indulging in drug trafficking for more than two years.

All the three arrested drug suppliers have been illegally staying in India without valid travel documents. Nnamani Ahukajude has disclosed that he had arrived in India in March 2022 on six month’s tourist visa, but did not return to his country even after expiry of visa. Passport recovered from him also bears two fake visa stickers as there is no departure from India after his arrival in March 2022. He himself has admitted that two visa stickers and immigration stamps on his passport are forged.

Franck has disclosed that he had come to India in January 2022 on six month’s tourist visa, but he did not return to his country Cote-d-Ivoire even after expiry of visa. A fake passport in the name of accused Franck Oumarlbrahim having his photograph purported to have been issued from Cote d Ivoire has been recovered from him. The said passport has a fake visa sticker of India and fake immigration stamps. He has also admitted that the passport and the visa sticker are fake.

Chinezie has disclosed that he had come to India in January 2018 on tourist visa for six months. However, he did not return to his country Nigeria thereafter and has been staying in India illegally since then. A fake passport purported to have been issued from Ghana in name of Kofi Kwami Majid having photograph of Chinezie has been recovered from him. Two fake visa stickers of India and various fake immigration stamps are there in the said fake passport. Accused has admitted that the said passport, visa stickers and immigration stamps are fake.

They have also disclosed that these fake passports, visa stickers and immigration stamps were procured by them through their Delhi-based Nigerian associate. In view of facts of illegal stay by these three accused persons in India, they have also been booked for violation of Foreigners Act and other offences of cheating, impersonation, forgery, preparation and possession of forged documents under IPC.

Efforts to identify/arrest the remaining members of the drug cartel are going on.
