BHU FORMS PANEL TO ENSURE TIMELY AND ERROR FREE ADMISSIONS

TO DEVELOP EFFECTIVE INFORMATION DISSEMINATION TOOLS FOR THE BENEFIT OF STUDENTS AND ADMISSION ASPIRANTS

VARANASI: Aiming at timely and efficient completion of the admission processes for undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programs so as to facilitate beginning of the upcoming academic session as per the schedule, Banaras Hindu University has formed a Central Admission Committee. Mandated with ensuring transparent and error free admission, the committee will also redesign the various admission bulletins of the university like UET, PET, RET and Special Courses of Study. It has also been tasked with developing effective information dissemination tools like help videos/ help desks for effective outreach of the university admission system and procedures in order to aid students and admission aspirants. The committee Chaired by Prof. Rakesh Raman, Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, will also work on further improving the admission system and take necessary measures in that regard. It will also look into the online admission mechanism to suggest effective alterations if required. The Controller of Examination will be the ex-officio member of the committee. Other members include Prof. Aditya Tripathi, Department of Library and Information Sciences, Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Department of Chemistry, Dr. Umesh Kumar, Department of English, Dr. Chinmay Roy, Faculty of Commerce, and Dr. Sabina Bano, Geography, Mahila Mahavidyalaya. Deputy Registrar (Academic) is the member secretary of the Central Admission Committee.
