“Amrit Yuva Kalotsav”, a youth centric festival organized by Sangeet Natak Akademi in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Faculty of Performing Arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi from 28 February 2023 to 3 March 2023 in which the artists honored with Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2020 performed. Meanwhile, Pandit Chhanulal Mishra blessed the artists who were honored with Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2020.
On the first day of this grand event, the program began with the welcome speech given by the Deputy secretary of Sangeet
Natak Akademi Dr. Rita Swami Chaudhary and Mr. Raju Das. After that, Shri Krishna Sharma did invocation for the success
of program. After this, Padma Vibhushan Pt. Channulal Mishra, Mr. Premchand Hombal, Prof. Manju Sundaram, Prof. K.
Shashikumar and Dr. Vidhi Nagar lit the lamp. The first, Hindustani vocal performance in raga Multani was
given by the duet Dr. Diwakar Kashyap and Prabhakar Kashyap. In the next series of the programme, there was a
melodious rendition on Sarangi in raga Saraswati by Harsh Narayan followed by teental vilambit and jhaptaal drut.
Barjhulni, Karma and Dhol Nritya, the folk music and dance of Chhattisgarh was presented by Mr. Dhani Ram Kadmiya,
who drenched the people present in the auditorium with the music and dance of Chhattisgarh. Ms. Trina Roy gave a
wonderful presentation of Kathak dance as she began her beautiful performance with Shiv Vandana followed by
Dhamar Taal and Krishna Das bhajan “Holi khelat hai Nandlal”.
Mr. Manoj Kumar Mishra imparted knowledge about the importance of lighting decoration in various theatrical arts
through his lecture and demonstration. Ms. Priyanka presented a play named 'The Advertisement'. The whole program was
compeered by Saurabh Chakraborty.
In the audience the gracious presence of Prof. Sangeeta Pandit, Prof. Sangeeta Singh, Prof. Birendra Nath Mishra, Dr.
K.A. Chanchal, Prof. Sharda Velankar, Dr. Vijay Kapoor, Shri Pankaj Rai, Dr. Prem Kishore Mishra, Dr. Ramshankar and all
art lovers of Varanasi.
